Socialist Republican group Lasair Dhearg has condemned the PSNI’s new “action plan” which seeks to “widen representation of the force” and recruit in secondary schools, exposing it as a tactic of normalisation and brainwashing.
“We appeal to schools to not put the children they care for at risk by letting armed gunmen of a force who have forcibly strip searched children or PSNI action plans into their facilities, “ the statement read, adding that “it is only in a 32 County Socialist Republic that there will be a Police Service that will defend the interests of the people against those that try to exploit them”.
The PSNI, a rebrand of the RUC, has reportedly spent more than 200 million pounds on their recruitment campaigns. The force has been widely criticised for two-tier policing, as they target Catholic communities while turning a blind eye to loyalist violence. The northern Irish statelet maintains a two-pronged policing approach, through the official law enforcement body’s collusion with loyalist paramilitaries, while instilling ethnic siege anxiety in Protestant communities.
Socialist republican organizations are keeping a close eye on the force, shutting down their events at secondary schools, redecorating their posters and thwarting their imperialist presence in the occupied 6 counties.
